Let’s connect and dance the waves of life and existential riddles. Inspired by the Iraqi phrase SHAKU MAKU, which is much more than just the translation of „What’s up“. With the estimated origin in Akkadian language “Shaku Maku” depicts, with a twinkle in the eye, the scope between a full and honest response…and nothing. Our care about everything. It also shows that we don’t know anything specific at all.

Spektakel is opening all it’s doors and spaces – theater, salon, cafe.bar and art.space – and is welcoming you to a night of celebration and embrace paradoxes and ambiguities. Just follow the sound telling about a space, where we find ourselves interwoven with life in it’s pure flow.

We are happy to announce a live concert by Trio DonauVerhau (Daniel Bierdümpfl – Guitar, 
 Federico Perinelli – Double bass, 
Adrian Kindl – Guitar), who will enchant a conglomerate of musical fisher*wo*man reaching for the poetics of every metaphorical river floating on this planet. Music like shimmering scales of a rainbow trout that doesn’t know of its beauty, but is revealing it to those who close their eyes and listen to the shimmer and loose themselves in the spume of audible waves. Enchanting our furious dancing by taking us on an acoustic ship ride through Jazz Standards, original compositions and other musical genres. Attempting a modern turn on Gypsy Jazz, the group is pushing borders and stigmas within the scene of the genre by enriching it with all of the group’s nationalities and diverse musical portfolios.

DonauVerhau is an international group of musicians from Austria, Italy and Germany living in Linz (Austria) by its eponym; the beautiful river Danube. Just like the Danube, which crosses all over Europe and is connecting various cultures along the way (in fact more than any other river on earth), than any other river on earth), the bands aspiration is to interconnect cultures musically and lyrically all along its fluid journey.

DJ and Artist Seba Kayan will pave the ground for us by her forensic, political and metaphorical approach. Her polyrhythmic compositions integrate a wide array of musical genres, including Orientalfuturistic electro, techno and Acid. In between, she burns the unmistakable swing of the so called “Oriental” Music into ironclad techno frameworks.
A binary vision of an occidental vs. oriental world is not aimed to be created, but both cultures are tried to be embodied and become interwoven.

Bereits ein Jahr, seit Hawy Rahman und Team das Spektakel neu bespielen.
Lasst uns die Wellen des Lebens voller existentieller Rätsel verbinden und ausgelassen tanzen. Inspiriert von der irakischen Phrase SHAKU MAKU, die viel mehr ist als nur die Übersetzung „What’s up“. Mit demvermuteten Ursprung in der akkadischen Sprache ist „Shaku Maku“ auch der Spielraum zwischen einer ausführlichen und ehrlichen Antwort … und dem augenzwinkernden Nichts.

Das Spektakel öffnet all seine Türen und Räume – Theater, Salon, Café.Bar und Art.Space – und heißt dich willkommen zu einer Nacht des Feierns und dem Umarmen von Paradoxien und Mehrdeutigkeiten. Folge dem Klang, der von einem Ort erzählt, an dem wir uns mit dem Leben in seinem reinen Fluss verwoben finden.

Das Trio DonauVerhau (Daniel Bierdümpfl – Gitarre, Federico Perinelli – Kontrabass, Adrian Kindl – Gitarre), wird in einem Live Konzert nach der Poetik jedes metaphorischen Flusses greifen, der auf diesem Planeten fließt. Musik wie schimmernde Schuppen einer Regenbogenforelle, die ihre Schönheit nicht kennt, sie aber jenen offenbart, die ihre Augen schließen und dem Schimmer lauschen und sich in der Gischt hörbarer Wellen verlieren.
DonauVerhau nimmt uns mit auf akustische Schiffsfahrt durch Jazzstandards, Eigenkompositionen und andere Musikgenres. Sie verschieben Grenzen udn Stigmata innerhalb der Szene des Genres Gypsy Jazz und deren modernen Interpretationen, bereichert mit allen Nationalitäten und vielfältigen musikalischen Portfolios der einzelnen Musiker_innen. Namensgeber der internationalen Gruppe von Musikern aus Österreich, Italien und Deutschland ist die schöne Donau. Genau wie die Donau, die ganz Europa durchquert und auf ihrem Weg verschiedene Kulturen verbindet, tatsächlich mehr als jeder andere Fluss auf der Erde, ist das Bestreben der Band, die Kulturen auf der Reise mit uns musikalisch und textlich miteinander zu verbinden.

DJ und Künstlerin Seba Kayan wird uns mit ihrem forensischen, politischen und metaphorischen Ansatz den Boden für eine weitere Sphäre ebnen. Ihre polyrhythmischen Kompositionen integrieren eine breite Palette musikalischer Genres, darunter orientalisch-futuristischer Elektro, Techno und Acid.
Dazwischen brennt sie den unverkennbaren Swing der sogenannten „orientalischen“ Musik förmlich in eiserne Techno-Gerüste. Nicht die binäre Vision einer abendländischen vs. orientalischen Welt ist Ziel, sondern die verkörperte Verwobenheit beider Kulturen.
